ALL IN A DAYS WORK
It takes approx. 7 hours to fully set up the show, and about 3 hours to tear it down, which Shane & Alecia do all by themselves.
Shane hammers 19 four foot tall tent stakes into the ground at each fair.
Alecia makes all the costumes used in the show, she is an excellent seamstress.
Because of all the movement and sweating, the costume shirts Shane uses in the trampoline act only last 1-3 weeks, new ones are made by Alecia.
The roller skates are custom made by Shane’s father, John Hansen and are able to slide on and off the boots with a special locking mechanism.
The blind folds used in the skating act are double knitted velvet fabric, and are impossible to see through.
Shane and Alecia design and make all the equipment seen in the show such as the roller skating platform, high cloudswing A-frame, backdrop frames, ect..
Alecia chose the blue and white color scheme of the show, believing blue promotes happiness, and red (which is the color of most circus tents) promotes anger.
Alecia’s family won the silver medal at the world famous Monte Carlo circus festival.
HOME ON THE ROAD
Shane and Alecia have a fully loaded 35’ travel trailer while on the road, it has 2 two large slide outs and all the luxuries of home including: Dome satellite, central air conditioning, stove, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, large bathroom with shower and bathtub, 3 flat screen televisions, Playstation 3, Nintendo wii, surround sound, washer/dryer, and computer with constant internet connection.
While not at fairs they perform all across the country with NBA halftime shows, corporate events, cruise lines, circuses, TV and more.
Shane & Alecia drove thier RV from Elkhart,IN to Anchorage, Alaska (3,688 miles) to perform for Circus Boreal in 2001 for 7 weeks, then had to drive from Anchorage to Rhinebeck,NY (4,460 miles) for the Dutchess County Fair.
The Hansen Family Tours 9-10 months a year, always taking December and January off to relax and be with family.
The Hansen family goes to Disney World at least once a year and enjoy going to the beach and playing volleyball with friends.
